First of all,from the definition of 'Hacker' we know that 'a hacker
is he/she who breaks the security system and gets unauthorised access on
the system'.
Now,if anyone wants to become a hacker,does he need to learn
programming language is a common question.Now let's come to the point.If
anybody wants to be a 'Penetration Tester' or 'ethical hacker' then,he
has to must.but hacking has different platform of
implementations.Depending on the platform,a hacker has to learn
programming or he can hack without any programming knowledge.So,which
platform of hacking requires programming?first of all comes the computer
system.if any hacker wants to hack into a computer system,then he has
to break the firewall system of the target computer.But,to break the
firewall,a hacker must know the source code of the firewall to identify
the security hole on the firewall.Here we require the programming a
software knowledge.This example is also applicable on other platforms
like phreaking,cracking etc.Now in website hacking,we need to break a
web server/scripting system security.As we know that websites are hosted
in computer system,in this platform,a hacker has to break the firewall
of the server computer to get the root access on the web server.Here we
also need the same thing,the computer programming knowledge.also for
just breaking the scripting security,a hacker has to learn php(php - the
commonly used programming to build a website.).So.we see,in order to
become a hacker,programming is must.This is applicable in other computer
programming languages.and to crack a software(using any programming),a
hacker has to learn related computer programming.
But,if anybody wants be a show-off 'hacker',then he doesnt need the
programming!how?let me explain.there are most of the hackers around the
world who just show-off others by hacking(actually uploading a deface
page on a vulnerable website) website and then mirroring it(no
matter!!!).They do is what,get an exploit and then use it to remotely
upload a page.But,an actual hacker has an aim to hack a website or
anything he do.A hacker may want to get the stored info(Bank data,money
info,personal bio,credit card info etc. important things stored on the
system.).Without any aim a hacker never hack.yes,a hacker can hack a
website to help the admin of that website to identify the security.But
why should he mirror it?hacker who mirrors hacked website just shows
that he can hack!or nothing.An actual hacker doesnt mirror if he has a
contract with the website author.By the way,let me get back on the
point.A show-off 'hacker' can hack a website by just uploading
shell(this is hacking,but just uploading a deface page without access to
the file system including editing permission is not called hacking
according to the definition of hacking) on the website and mirror
them.but,here is a point.if a hacker get the full access on the website
file system,then we can say the website is hacked.So,in conclusion,he is
called hacker who can hack into the file system of anything.To be a
hacker,we must need programming knowledge.not applicable for show-off
hacker.(Sorry for not explaining on how to become a show-off hacker.I
already have written a note on it very earlier.Kindly search in google
or see my older notes.)
